We kicked off with a bang, heading straight out the evening of the day we arrived, for a pre wedding dinner with the wedding couple (Brendan and Maria), and a few of their friends and family. Had a lovely dinner at the Wanderers Club but headed to bed early as the next day was the wedding and most guys were keen to keep their liver "clean" for the following day and nights shenanigans. Some however decided it would be a good idea to keep going, I needn't mention names, you know who you are: Frog, Sears, Christina, Mullins etc ;-) The friends we were staying with, Sarah and Ross, thankfully decided it was better to head home.

And thank goodness we did, as the next 12hours were spent (for me at least) hugging porcelain - no not from too much alcohol, I only had two drinks, but rather from food poisoning! I mean COME ON we are off on an 8 month round the world trip, visiting seriously third world countries where the chances are way more likely that something like is will occur - but no, in SA of all places! I'm hoping that's my bout for the next 8 months but not sure will be so lucky.

Anyway, the wedding went by in somewhat of a blur for me, but it was very beautiful and I know Chris had a fabulous time ;-) Thank you so much to Brendan and Maria for inviting us and allowing us to share in your very awesome and special day - I know there are hundreds of wonderful and funny stories that arose from the day that I'm sure will be re-told time and time again.

Sunday was spent recovering, myself from the food poisoning and Chris from alcohol poisoning, well not quite but he was tender, to say the least.

We won't go into every day and what we did because it would be very mundane to most: see this friend, have dinner with that family member, relax by pool, catch sun tan, have a braai, etc etc.

My brothers, Philip and Jaime, flew up to Johannesburg with their respective girlfriend Nix and wife Christine, and we headed off to Mabalingwe Game?? Reserve. Actually it was a nature reserve and there was very little game, no cats and pouring with rain so we didn't see much - to the point that we had to visit the Lion Park on the way back to Johannesburg just so we could get our fix of the big game lol, how long have we been living in London for? Saying this though, the place we stayed was absolutely beautiful and we had the most fabulous weekend with my brothers and the girls.

Three very special people flew up from Cape Town, unfortunately we didn't get to see the one :-( but was amazing to hang out with the other two.

What a crazy few weeks spent in South Africa. As always, was wonderful to catch up with friends and family and see people we haven't for some time. Also, as always, we never do get to see everybody we want to so for those of you who we didn't get to see, until next time...and now on to Hong Kong baby
