Today was meant to be a big drive day to Carlsbad New Mexico, unfortunately we woke up to a winter weather advisory. Temperature at 25 degrees F and snow predicted for our 7 hour drive we decided to stay put in Fort Worth and wait out the bad conditions. Grabbed a hotwire hotel just a mile down the road and went for breakfast at the Mexican restaurant next door. Since i wouldn't be driving today i rewarded myself with a bloody Mary breakfast (which came complete with bacon, jicama and jalapeno on a cocktail stick).

Checked into our hotel for the night and saw all the reception full of pilots and air stewardesses looking for a room after all the flights being canceled. Conformation we made the right choice not to drive.

Had a beer at the hotel bar where a fellow patron told me that i was from a third world country for supporting soccer "Don't they have hooligans" she asked? They quickly left after i inquired about her definition of a third world country. Our bartender apologized about her comments and said she was from Texas oil money and had no idea how the real world worked. Well i guess it takes all sorts!

Chilled out in our warm room and went out to watch the second half of the super bowl at the local hooters restaurant. The game was already over so the crowd was subdued.

Extra bonus was being able to catch the last episode of Sherlock in our hotel room.

Tomorrow we will attempt our big drive again.
