We started off the week catching up with Chris cousin Joanne over lunch at the Harvester near our old flat in Buckhurst hill. Chris let our the occasional scream while driving - these tight roads will get some getting used to again after the expansive highways of America.
Tuesday in the City:
Met up with Chris ex-QBE colleague Danny for some drinks at the Red Herring. Cousins Tom, Kathryn and their other halves (Kate & Conrad) joined us a few hours later. We finished off the night at Byron burger which is a newer chain here that boasts that they "make proper hamburgers" which I take to mean that they don't give you a tough frozen patty like many past pub experiences
Get Fit Wednesday:
Yes people we officially signed up for a gym today. Now we have 1.5 months to see if we ever visit 'Club Baltimore' ever again.
Thursday Star Siting:
Met my sis Grace for lunch at Granger & Co. in Notting Hill. The food was delicious and made even more enjoyable with Stella McCartney dining just two tables away. I snuck in some stalker-ish looks walking to and from the loos. On the way out my sis said hi to a guy sitting at the counter who's kids went to the same school as hers, later I found out it was the restaurant owner himself...so that was pretty cool as well.
Later that day we did the throwback Thursday offer at the cinema to see About Time (funny sad...pretty enjoyable) Just a Tenner for 2 tickets, two small drinks and a small popcorn. Money saved..cha ching.
Friday with the fellas:
Chris met up with Garry, Simon & Marc for some reminiscing and I caught up with them later
Sloth Saturday: Still have not gone to the gym we signed up for... Instead we slept in and later enjoyed some good comfort food at the Greenwich Tavern.
Sporty Sunday: My niece Eliza and nephew Henry had a big day of basketball at the American School so we tagged along to see them shoot some hoops.
On the way home we jumped off at Westminster and walked to Tower Hill taking in the scenery and the changes that had happened since we were last here. Upon arriving home we caught up with Alan in the Great Eastern for a few drinks and caloric Indian takeaway to finish the night.
