Where I stayed
We arrived at our hotel and then hit the bricks to find some much needed lunch. Had a nice wander along the beach and then settled on the Land Shark Grill not far from the big ferris wheel. After sipping some Bahama Mama's and carb loading we headed back to the hotel for a rest/swim. The pool was slightly dissaponting at a mere 3.5 feet deep and the hot muggy air/freezing water combo was a bit much...but really am I allowed to complain when there are some tigers on the schedule today?
Louise had noted T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation station the last time her and Marc were in Myrtle Beach and the appeal of cuddling her own baby tiger had haunted her ever since. We arrived shortly after it opened (set in a shopping center) and the place was already at the height of crazy
Later I would find out that we were about to pay the $80 for the tiger shoot when the question was posed, "Do you want to have the monkey?"to which Chris replied something to the effect of "Yes of course" and was then told "That will be an extra $20" A 20 for a Monkey...well I guess..yes please. This would be the 2nd/3rd splurge of the day.
Well I have to say as demented as paying crazy $$ to hold a baby tiger/big baby tiger/monkey and take some photos sounds...it was pretty AWESOME. 6 week old little tiger tot was passed to each of us and Chris and I had the crazy bitey monkey around our necks. The man told Chris to hold his belly...Chris was pretty sure it did not want its belly held but he followed orders. Marc got to feed the tiger a bottle presumably so it would be drinking that and not bethinking about eating us or the monkey.
This was all over in what seemed like 30 seconds
We hit up a mini golf place and suffered another beating by team Sach...or more specifically Louise with 4 (FOUR) hole in ones. Sick ridiculous...please someone get rid of her.
Since we had already broken the bank for the day we ended with a massive array of dishes at PF Changs. (Splurge #5)
Having had enough exotic animal encounters and mongolian beef for the day we tucked ourselves into bed.
