It's amazing how frugal and without shame a chap can become while traveling on a budget. I'm not sure if the maids who watched me and Leslie make repeated visits to the ice machine to fill up our cooler, felt pity or sorrow for us. But who cares when that’s another 3 dollars saved ladies.
If you think that’s bad check out how many Bananas I have in my bag from your continental breakfast! One nil Chris on this hotel visit.
Since Crescent City has little to offer than tales of two Tsunami's we decide to head a little inland and escape the cold coastal fog at Jedediah State park. We had heard about a pretty cool river and an amazing drive up Howland Park road (I'm not sure how a dirt\gravel track can be called a road but hey ho)
The drive and river were amazing as advertised (see attached pics), and even better news with the sun out it gave me the perfect opportunity to try out my new sexy hat!
Next up we headed back into Crescent City to set up our Tent, but not before checking out the local pier and lighthouse.
And that was pretty much it.
Side note I'm a little concerned about our lack of planning for this trip, as we are now over a week in and still only 300 miles from the creek. At this rate the road trip is going to last into 2015. We need to pick up the pace.
