Early 10am start today (its amazing how quick a chap can become accustomed to not working.)
First order of business was to pay $5 to drive through a tree, I'm amazed it didn't cost more and has by far been the bargain of the trip!
Then we started the 30 mile drive up the Avenue of the Giants, to the Humboldt State park, where Leslie had promised me even more hiking. I simply could not believe my luck, two days straight of walking, what treat will Leslie have in store for me tomorrow? Perhaps a session at the gym or maybe she will let me wash the car?
To be fair the drive was amazing. It's hard to appreciate through a photo how incredible these ancient trees are. Some of them date back over 2000 years. We spent three hours in park where we got the see the one of the tallest tree's in the world. Apparently the worlds tallest tree is a little further up the coast in the Redwood National park (we will be there in a couple of days, so I'll check that bad boy out then).
