We headed off in the morning and sadly said goodbye to Wren, Laura and Chesa.  After picking up some supplies of fruit and other goodies from the farmers market, we hit the road.  It was a long drive to Gold Beach, which basically took us all day.  We did take a break on the way to have a swim in the town of Arcata.

We arrived in Gold Beach in the early evening to find a lovely beach and a pleasant motel with two bedrooms! YAY! 

The next day we hit the road again for a long stretch up to Portland.  This was alot of driving in two days, we will plan not to have too many stretches like this in the future.
