Where I stayed
Sadly our hosts had a family commitment in Arizona so we said good bye to them for a couple of days. While we were in the Valley we went to the Ronald Reagan memorial museum. Quite fascinating and a beautiful view and we got to walk through Airforce One (which was used up until 3 years ago by the last 7 US presidents including George Bush).
We also went to LA and saw the Body World display. Really interesting but almost bizarre. A display of preserved bodies, in a really arty and educational way. Also saw a great Imax movie of the human body.
Then Cassandra, Samantha and I headed off on the train for Simi, while Chris and Zack headed off to watch an NBA game with the LA lakers. This had been long awaited and they really enjoyed themselves. They were within spitting distance of the LA Bench and saw Jack Nicholson and other celebrities nearby. Hollie picked me and the girls up from the Simi Valley station and we ate all of her Kettle Corn for her! We had a quiet night and an early night. The boys didn't, they were home well after midnight.
We also went to Santa Barbara for a day, we saw the great little zoo and then had a blast riding up and down the waterfront on these cool bikes, Cass and I on a carriage two seater with a steering wheel, Samantha on a chopper and Chris and Zack on four wheelers. Zack's was a bit knackered, so surprise surprise, I ended up riding that one. What a great work out. We had a barbeque at Hollie and Charlie's that night. Now they are the ultimate neighbours, they had us even though Rick and Diane didn't get back until late. The kids thoroughly enjoyed their kids neighbourhood friends, and we had a really nice night.
The next morning we packed up and sadly said goodbye to everyone before we headed off for Hollywood.
