The remedy is working but only on good days!  (Homesick)

We have done nothing but sunbath, swim, eat and relax since we got here.  We have looked at the options for trips and sight seeing but we cant be bothered just yet!!!

If you like noisy, drunks, timeshare, teeshirts and Spainish/Tenerife type holidays you will love Cancun.  There are people from Europe, South America, USA and Mexico.  There are ruins near by and an Island , Cozumel, off shore.   You can swim with the dolphins, snorkel, dive or stay in your hotel and chill.  Playa Del Carmen is slighly quieter and not so commercialised.
But it is costly.  If you book independently dont be drawn into the airport taxi fair, there is a local bus service which will take you to the resorts for much less then they charge.

Chris has been diving and seen some tropical fish, Turtles and Moray's but he is not impressed.  The Maldives is still the number one place to dive in his books.  He has other dives booked (training for the Great Barrier Reef) so he may get better sightings.

We have been sailing on the Catamaran (Hobie Cat), driven by Chris ( can't let him loose the ability to drive) and lazed by the sea.  We play water games, bicycle and drink cocktails in our spare time.

The sea is clear and the beaches are nearly white sand, it is not the type of holiday we  would normally choose and the standards of Hygiene and Health and Safety are very poor. Chris is keeping his skills tuned up, we witnessed a gas explosion and he gave assistance.

We are learning a little Mexican, we know how to order drinks, greet people and respond to simple questions and we are nearly the same colour as the Mexicans, so we blend in well.  We are off to Cuba next week so we will keep you informed of how we get on.

Beunos Dias!
