But I didn´t realize it´d be in Portugal! They even have the golden gate bridge...ish. Lisboa is BEAUTIFUL, rolling hills, classic trolleys, a big castle on top of a hill, and even the pope (luckily we got out the day before he arrived). Finally, we went to a beach. It was everything we hoped for. The food was amazing, even though the traditional portuguese soup looked like an eyeball might float to the top at any moment, but it was delicious nonetheless. When we asked whats in it, the waiter just kept saying water as the first ingredient, very proud that he knew what it consisted of. The mosaic on the sides of the buildings were beautiful, I´m stealing them for my garden when I´m a grown up. While making our way up to the castle, which in itself is a fairly big climb, we missed the short cut and continued to circle around the city, upward, for another mile, or so it seemed. Met a fun girl from Austria, she had some interesting stories about moroccan massages, where old naked women would scrub you down while shoving your hand under their ¨big, saggy, old woman breasts¨ in order to get a better scrub down...we´ll have to try that.
