Geoffrey's Humble Abode

Maybe at best we got 2 hours of sleep on the plane when we arrived in Dublin. The weather was a little gloomy with some rain, so we ventured through the nearby park and made our way to a pub. Nothing like offsetting your jetlag with a pint of Guiness. Smooth and delicious, like silk in our mouths. Afterwards we felt like we were on drugs, we were so tired. Caitlin could have cried for 5 minutes of sleep around 2, but we pushed on and made it to dinner. Geoffrey and Sinzi joined us for yet another pint, and fixed us a delicious dinner, with an endless supply of his Italian wine. The next morning we awoke, but were not by any means rested, but we ventured to the cliff walk in Bray (although we meant to go to Howth, the cliffs in the opposite direction), about a half hour train ride outside of Dublin. Of course we took a wrong turn and walked along the cliffs, but were able to stumble upon little yellow flowers that smell exactly like piņa joke. We then hiked up the muddiest cliff I've ever seen, Chris in her mocasins of course, in search of some fantom pub at the summit, which turned out to be in Howth, not Bray. Whoops. We had a great time getting lost and exploring, like we always do. Had another pint of Guiness, then took our gracious host out to dinner. Today we went out to Bru na Boinne to tour the Newgrange Neolithic Irish passage tombs that date back before the pyramids. They were designed so that during the winter solstace, the sunlight penetrates the chamber, allowing the souls of their ancestors to follow the light into the afterlife, or so they say. Pretty amazing though. Tomorrow we're headed to Galway, then the Cliffs of Moher on Saturday before we head back to Dublin and fly to Prague on Tuesday. Pictures to come soon, until next time!
