After having been preparing and sending out applications to various universities for the past months, I finally booked another flight and have meanwhile arrived in South America, where I will be travelling around for the next two and a half months.
Upon arrival in Santiago, it turned out that the weather, like the country's name, is actually quite "chile", which is something I simply did not expect before coming here. Anyway, so far I have already had a really good time as I was staying with 2 friends from home and was also able to make use of my Spanish, which I haven’t used in a long time…
Santiago is definitely a nice city but does not have to offer too much tourist-wise - apart from maybe the Cerro del Cristobal or Santa Lucia, from where you can enjoy some nice views over the town and onto the surrounding mountains.
Nevertheless, given that since my first day I have always been in good company while enjoying South American nightlife and being invited to a Chilean Barbeque, where I had incredibly tasty Asado, I am happy to have had such a good start of my new adventure.
