We have arrived in Boston on the start of our Odyssey - thank God I hear you say.
Had an uneventful flight - I'm glad to see that American Airlines take anti-ageism policies very seriously when it comes to selecting aircrew !
Immigration was an anti-climax - no queues, pleasant staff & they only asked to scan my left hand.
The centre of town is developed like Covent Garden - shops & restaurants filling old buildings, street acts performing outside.
We have seen some of the Olympics on NBC (are there any other nations competing other than USA & China ???) & they have shown so many repeats of Michael Phelps winning 8 golds that even the Americans are fed up with it !
We went to the "Cheers" pub last night which had a great atmosphere - Barbara told me off for being rude to 2 Texans that we got talking to. I reminded them that they LOST the battle at the Alamo.
We did the cultural tour today seeing where the American Revolution started.
Bye the way, did we ever get the money back for the tea that was tipped into the harbour

Quincy Market
Boston is cute with parks & pavement cafes, lots of bars & restaurants (great if you like hamburgers). Its small enough to cover on footThe centre of town is developed like Covent Garden - shops & restaurants filling old buildings, street acts performing outside.

have you received any of my other emails, don't know if I am doing it correctly. Glad to see you have found a pub and yes there are other countries in the Olympics. We are doing very well we are third and Australia are behind us and not very happy about It is all down to the cycling and the saiing and one girl swimmer who won two gold medals. Missing you already Barbara, just come back from coffee with Elsie and ginger Carol.
Take care
