Here's a funny thing we have experienced while eating in restaurants:

Apparently, 9:30 pm is "Staff Suppertime".  Three times, while dining out at more local style restaurants, we have witnessed all of the restaurant staff (cooks, servers, hostesses), enter the main dining room at about 9:30 pm and sit around the largest table in the restaurant.  A massive bowl of rice is brought to the table, along with plates and pots of various kinds of food.  The entire staff digs in and enjoys a nice meal together, right there among the restaurant patrons!

If you have ever been a server in the US, you know that this would NEVER happen there.  You'd be lucky to get 10 minutes to shove some bread in your face at the wait station...

How nice that they are given the chance to sit down and eat together.  It's good to see them laughing and chatting, plus, it's reassuring to know that they are eating the same things I am!  They must do their best to make the food as tasty as possible, right?  After all, it's their supper too!  :o)

One of many things we could learn from...
