We woke to a beautiful day in San Diego. Our bags were to be ready for pick up in our room by 9:00 a.m.; checkout time was noon, but we were to be ready for boarding the 2nd shuttle bus at 11:15. So, we were out of our room & in the lobby before 11:00. Plenty of good people watching; trying to figure out which ones would be our shipmates. Learned that some had just gotten off the ship as it had just made the reverse itinerary to our trip. After a 5-minute trip to the pier, we had a quick & easy check-in with a painless review of our boarding pass, passport, and security check, then a quick photo made for ID purposes and probably in less than 15 minutes we were on board!

Then the fun part of learning our way around--not too difficult since this is the exact same ship David and I cruised on when we went to Alaska in 2008. It is showing its age a little bit, but still very elegant. We had the mandatory safety drill at 4:15 before we were allowed to sail--we are assigned to Life Boat #5.

Spent the evening eating, unpacking, and learning the ropes. It will be good to no longer be living out of a suitcase!
