We woke up this morning in a bittersweet mood with one last day in paradise to enjoy before enduring 36 hours of travel to get home to Milwaukee. Not much to report here. There was a lot of hanging out in the room, swimming in our pool, one final lunch at the pool bar and then it was time to change and get ready to go to the airport.

Our goal was to try and stay in our relaxed zen mode as long as possible. A few things made that difficult. Leaving our beautiful resort was a breeze. They stored our luggage (as we were denied late check out), but we had awesome showers and changing rooms at the pool, so no big deal. Getting the bill was, as always, unpleasant, and then we were then told that even though it was 100 Baht ($3.00) to the airport on the way to the resort in a metered cab, our fancy resort doesn't allow metered cabs on the property. We would need to use one of their town cars to catch our flight (not 100 Baht). We left ourselves plenty of time to check in and found ourselves in a massive line at Malaysia Airlines with no one at the check in desk. Finally, someone arrived. The staff was really under the clock to get everyone checked in but we somehow managed to get our luggage checked all the way to Minneapolis (a small miracle).

Things I will miss about Phuket:

-swimming pool
-people saluting me for no reason
-not caring/knowing what time it is
-no makeup vacation Maribeth
-mango and sticky rice

Things I am excited to get home to:
-my own bed
-a routine
-knowing how things work! Not having to be on the alert at all times

Tomorrow: reliving the day you don't want to relive!
