Pick up

After a 22hr train journey from Beijing, we finally arrived in Guangzhou. We were picked up by a teacher  from our future school called Jessica. Like us, she was also new and beginning her first year of teaching at Sanxin school. She was very attractive, so it gave me a good impression of the school already! If the looks of our induction guide gave us a rugged outline of how good the school were, ours was certainly the best when compared to the other people being picked up by their schools.

After a two hour bus drive from Guangzhou to Zhongshan we finally arrived at our placement. We had been travelling for more than 24 hours, and were very tired! I was hoping that i wasn't going to be forced to work the next day, as we had been warned that some schools will make you work as soon as possible. We were lucky and i got four days of time to recover!

We were introduced to our accommodation. We live in a “teachers village”, just outside the school. Its basically a closed neighbourhood of high rise flats where (most) of the teachers from Sanxin Bilingual school live. Guarded 24hrs, it is a relatively safe place to live compared to the rest of Sanxiang. We got off the bus, and walked up to our flats. The boys were segregated from the girls, china style as they obviously don’t want any mating going on. Twas kind of disappointed at the time because that meant that i was unable to work any of my moves on the women, but hey. Our flat was pretty basic at first impressions, but i have learnt that compared to some of the other participates on TTC program, our flat is a palace. There are 2 small rooms, with nice natural light, 1 room that the  same size but features no natural light (the worst room) and 1 large room with en suite. To make it fair we all used bits of cardboard with numbers written on it, and assigned a room with a number.

Bad Logic/Playing Logic

The cardboard pieces were all different sizes and shapes. I commented on this and said that it was going to be unfair when we picked a number. No one listened.
Jess, (the hot teacher who picked us up) put the cardboard in her hand and we had to pick. I was 3rd and certain that i was going to get a shit deal out of this. Fortunately the large room hadn’t been taken when it came to my turn. Because i had memorised the shape of the large room piece of cardboard i knew exactly what to look for. Low and behold: i have the big room with the en suite. Hooray for observation skills, suckaz.
