August 14
In the early hours of the morning we make a cruise in the Sognefjord (Fjord of the Dreams), which actually consists of two fjords: Naeroy and Sogne. We are unlucky and it starts raining at mid-term but we hold on in the upper deck of the boat, uncovered. It's absolutely amazing! Allegedly it's possible to see seals, porpoises, dolphins and even killer whales (yes, of course, I can imagine Willy splashing in the fjords' water...) but we just see several porpoises. At the beginning they were few porpoises but then there were lots diving once and again. Cool!

The cruise finishes at Kaupanger, a small town where we visit a wood church (Stavkirke in norgewian). I have to admit I don't feel much interest about churches but stavkirke are precious. They seem the scenery of an old movie. This one has a small cemetery around it, which seem to atrezzo too 1st: Sognefjord - where are the killer whales?!
1st: Sognefjord - where are the killer whales?!
.

We leave Kaupanger bordering Fjaerland fjord and come to Oyer small glacier a bit later just in time to eat at a restaurant located below the glacier.
After luch we go to another glacier, the big one: Briksdal glacier. It's incredible, I can't see what's in front my eyes. This is one of the most spectacular things I've seen in my life. We have to walk uphill for one hour to the base of the glacier, it's raining, now it's not, now it's raining again, now it's not, yes, no, yes... and forth. Crossing violent waterfalls, tripping with stones, jumping puddles and always surrounded by tall pines we arrive at the base of the glacier. It's overwhelming, I feel a void inside of me, a sensation of enormity around me that makes me feel very small. I look at the glacier and I can't believe it: those snowline are there from millions of years. The most shocking thing is the ice's colour: BLUE! That's because of the oxidized oxygen particles.
I would be in this place for hours...

... but that's not possible! We leave the glacier and enter in Nordfjord region. Tonight we will sleep in Stryn, a nice and quiet town that smells of cow shit (or maybe it's horse shit?). After dinner we go for a walk along the town but there's absolutely nothing to do there. At main street there is a shopping mall, a bowling, a café-video store and a few shops. All closed. We go to a supermarket to buy some beer but beer's only sold up to 9 p.m (it's 10.30 aprox). We have no choice but to have a beer at the terrace of the hotel (NOK55 = €6.50. F@#*!!)
