August 25
We leave Edinburgh to enter the mythical scottish Highlands. Our first stop is a town called Pitlocry, where we visit a whiskey distillery, the "Blair Athol". The building is wonderful, with lots of flowers. They show us the making process of whiskey, the national drink of Scotland. The best thing is that at the end they invite us to taste several types of whiskey (at 11 o'clock in the morning!) haha Later we go to Inverness, the capital of the Highlands; a small town on the shores of famous Loch Ness. The town is very cute and we have luch there, in the heart of the city. After luchtime we go for a walk along the place and later we are set to arrive at Loch Ness, where we do a half an hour cruise on the lake. Loch Ness is the deepest lake in Scotland and it's famous for the mysterious monster that inhabits its waters, Nessie.
Unfortunately we don't see Nessie, but we can visit Urquhart Castle, a castle in ruins on the shores of the lake. It's really photogenic! We visit the castle for a while and the truth is it's impressive, and it has a great sight of the lake. We continue our journey towards Aviemore, the town where we will sleep tonight. The village itself is a ski resort but it's august and there's no snow around here at the moment. It so happens that there is a Harley Davidson's concentration, so the atmosphere is very lively, with live music and motorbikers everywhere. We spend the night at a rock concert feeling we bring the party wherever we go: the Festival in Edinburgh, Harley Davidson's party in Aviemore...
