So for all of you who are dying to know...I did make the walk to Caacupe! 9 hours and many many blisters later! We left at 7 p.m. and made it around 4 a.m. the next day...with 2 quick stops for dinner and then a short rest. It was an incredible experience. I donīt think Iīve ever seen so many people walking in my life. Once we got to the main road about 16K out...the entire road was filled on both sides and the buses couldnīt even get by. There were so many stands set up along the way selling drinks and food and of course latrines for those who needed a bathroom break. Once you got closer there were even houses offering showers. One bit of advice I will remember for the year to come is never, ever try to do as the Paraguayans and walk in flip flops...my feet are still recovering. I couldnīt walk without pain for a good 2-3 days. I made it 4 hours in flip flops and the rest of the way in sneakers. Once we got there, there were so many people we couldnīt even get into the church so we are going back this Thursday when itīs not so crazy.
Well Iīm going to try to call the family...itīs a little early for you all in the states but I gotta make my calls. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday and youīll hear more from me in 2008!

Lisa,
I can't imagine waddling for that long. I'm due with our third baby in less than two weeks... so that's what I'd be doing. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I enjoy reading about your adventures. Take care!
Love,
Francie
