It's December...and I can hardly believe I've been away from home for 10 months now! Saturday marks 10 months in Paraguay...amazing. Here's a quick update!
I'm sure you all are wondering (well even if you aren't you are still reading aren't you?) how it is us Peace Corps volunteers spend our Thanksgiving. Well picture 130 volunteers in a hotel in Encarnacion (my furthest adventure south in Paraguay thus far) with 3 pools...lots of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, pie, wine...and a talent show. Not to mention 2 full days of nothing but pouring rain...though we did still make use of the pool and I have to say the high dive was my favorite! We also made it to the Jesuit ruins...again in the rain...but what's a little mud on the flip flops?
Let's not forget my education girls' (aka birthday) side trip to San Bernardino where we had the entire hotel to ourselves...a beautiful lake view...and met the most English speakers in Paraguay thus far
So tomorrow I am making the walk to Caacupe...it'll be about...oh maybe 8 hours or so. I'll be sure to let you know if I make it! Check out these images from past years http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=oh1IPRAwl-4&feature=related
Would love to hear from you! Drop me a line!

Then we met some a family that was dining and they invited us to their gorgeous...and do i mean gorgeous....home to swim and then took us out to dinner at a German restaurant. It was amazing to make so many random connections. So tomorrow I am making the walk to Caacupe...it'll be about...oh maybe 8 hours or so. I'll be sure to let you know if I make it! Lis,
The pictures are great! You look wonderful! Even all rain doesn't appear to have been toooooo bad! Glad you had a good turkey day. The Streets all spent Thanksgiving with Ginny at her place, along with a couple of people from her work who would have spent the day alone.
It IS hard to believe you have been gone almost a year. People from the bowling league are constantly asking about you. We give them the web sit to Travel Pod and tell them to take a look.
Keep the updates coming. We are really going to miss you at Christmas.
Love,
The Street Gang!
