Next week is my official site presentation where my coordinator from PC comes out to present me to the community.  She gets to come and explain all the good stuff...namely what is PC, what I´m doing there, why I can´t ride a moto, and how it is okay if I want some independence...my own space.  It´s hard for them to understand that I have been cooking my own food for quite some time now.  I have 2 teachers at the school who are going to help me look for a place with some more independence.  I´m looking for a room to rent with space to cook and possibly my own bathroom...that would be heaven!  We shall see what there is to offer, but they seem to think they´ll be able to find me something.  I can move out at the end of the month if I can find a place.  All the Volunteers in my group are really looking forward to celebrating the end of the month and moving out on our own!  It´s like we are finally adults again.  Obviously there are a lot of advantages of living with a family...I wouldnt mind living with a family as long as I can get some more independence.

I´ve also had some good meetings and looks like my first bit of work will be health with an educator from the hospital...we are planning stuff on nutrition and dental health.  My first workshop is next Thursday with the teachers from the school on dental health. 

Tomorrow we have our first VAC meeting...all the volunteers from the area get together...it will be nice because I have yet to meet all of them.  It will be good to put some names with faces. 

I went and picked up a new kitty...not the same as the old one but very cute.  It was born back in February when I went to visit another PCV so I got to see it on the first day.  She is heading back to the states with her husband so they are leaving me in the care of their kitten.  The 3 weeks a spent without a kitty were lonely so Im glad to have some company again. 
Thats about all the news I have for now...Ill keep you updated with the housing search...

Independence
Ah, Lisa, it is so good to hear from you! I know what you mean by 'independence.' I feel the same way. And you know that Ginny is the same! So...I will say a prayer that God put you in the right place. Sometimes you want to cook what YOU want and sometimes you need to be alone. Keep us posted on the search.
