so i´ve survived my first week in south america...outhouse...bucketbaths and all. i think i´m actually getting better at it if that is at all possible. the food is not bad...i just have to be careful how much well water and terere i drink bc they don´t always sit well if you know what i mean! i´m getting used to all the bugs believe it or not...my mosquito net is my life saver...it makes me not scared of all the spiders at night.
my family is great...i actually have 9 siblings! only 2 live at home...3 on the weekends. i´ve met all but 1 and i have a bunch of nieces and nephews. they are wonderful and are helping me with my guarani. i´ve been labeled the lucky one of the group because my sister who is home on the weekends is actually a guarani teacher! we have so many animals...dog, cat, chickens, ducks, pigs, cows...you name it we have it and they walk around like they own the place...namely because there are no doors on our house!
there are 35 of us in all in training...there are 8 in my educ group...they are great and everyone depends on one another...it´s great just to chat cuz we are all feeling the same way about being out of touch with home. ç
i´m at the internet cafe on my lunchbreak so i can miss the rush after class today. there´s so major waiting time to use the computers...worse than in an ER...

Those pictures you took were awesome, you look like you are having a good time. At least the cat they have over there won't suffocate you in the middle of the night if it decides to sleep on your head. I hope you get a chance to upload more pictures of Paraguay and what its like down there! Try to find one of those giant gerbil things and take a picture of it..and then run away fast!! =)

This is sooo cool! You sound upbeat and happy with you new adventure. So glad you like your fellow vols. Do any of the items in your PC backback come in handy? I hope you took extra Imodium along! What is the liquid you've been drinking, a juice? I'm sure you'll be eating and drinking some very exotic things you won't find here except in 'specialty' stores. We will all be watching and living through you as we read every blog!
