It is here the magic started happening. Part of our time we spent on the upper part of Harris Park, over looking the park. It had full hookups, the weather ranged from stormy to brilliant warm sun. When it rained we made bread and soup together. We painted and drew pictures. We got on our rain clothes and walked in the rain. Isabelle started telling me over and over, "mommy, I love you so much". One day she really missed her friends so we made several unsuccessful attempts to call them. She still talks about them every day, particularly Jessica. If there is an animal or family one is always Isa and another is normally named Jessica but the longing to see them has clearly lessoned and her ability to be present where ever we are is so fun.
The Sun, The Beach. The sky cleared in Brookings, the sun came out and it was warm. Brookings lies in a banana belt, so the weather there is usually a little warmer and nicer then other places. One foggy morning we decided to head to the beach Harris Beach

. I'd been prepping Isa, it was a long steep walk to the beach and a long steep walk back. Isa got her little backpack, loaded it up with essentials, food, toys, and treasures and off we went. She made it down offering to hold my hand if I got scared and needed help. I gratefully accepted.

Precious Gems.Looking down at the beach it is one of the prettiest I've seen in all of Washington and Oregon. Huge rock formations cluster around the beach, and goat island is right off the coast. We walked down there and Isa said, "oh mommy, thank you so much for taking me here, this is much better then the playground." My heart was filled with love and gratitude for my daughter and this experience with her.
Not realizing how much time had gone by we stayed on the beach for five hours. I thought for certain she was going to want me to carry her up the steep hill but nope, she made it the entire distance.
Good Company. Isa is picking flowers from around the campgrounds, then she is distributing them at campsites with people in them. Two of those people were Bud, Linda and Snoopy, their beagle. We ended up camping next to them and had so much fun. Isa invited them over to roast marshmallows with us, we had pie and ice cream and laughed about stuff. Halloween.Halloween was spent at a local church. I bought tickets for a donation price and Isa got to play games and she could pick a piece of candy out of the bag and a present. It was really fun having it centered around something other then just getting candy. She got to go fishing, throw darts at balloons and footballs in hoola hoops. We played for over an hour and headed home. We got home to a loud knock on the door. It was the camp host. "you were supposed to come over trick or treating!"
We spent a full two weeks in Brookings before heading out. The weather was starting to get pretty cold so it was time for heading south.
