Still traveling with Andrés, we reached Bolivia's capital city after a whole day on the bus. We went directly to the hostel recommended by travellers and where surprised to see known faces and a big party. We followed the crowd till the early morning from bar to bar. After resting a bit on the following day, we visited La Paz, from the Prado to the park in the upper city, discovering the impressive Illimani. La Paz is a strange city. It is in a big hole where the richer lives down the valley and the poorer up in the part called El Alto. There is a lot of pollution and it is difficult to take your breath at 3600m when walking up hill. It is the political capital of the country and the main buildings are around the plaza Murillo. On Sundays, there is the biggest market in whole South America at El Alto. I went there but felt lost without anything to buy. At least, you get a good spot to see the city and you can find some group of people dancing in the streets. The touristy part of the city is behind the cathedral. There you also have the witches' market where you can find very weird things like lama fetus and power statues. I recommend more the traditions museum which was disappointing at the begining but I enjoyed the last parts.
