We finally left Brownsville and headed to San Antonio. We landed up staying at the Admiralty RV Park that was very close to the San Antonio Sea World. They also had a free shuttle to Sea World which would eliminate the $15 parkiing fee.
San Antonio has a great public transit system, so as soon as we got the RV hooked up we took the Express Bus into downtown and the beautiful Riverwalk. Again, the bus ride, RT for both of us was cheaper than parking downtown, not to mention avoiding the traffic hassles and the price of fuel, etc.
We had a lovely dinner at Casa Rio right next to the river, as we watched all the tour boats glide by and the strolling Mariachis playing a variety of Mexican tunes.
The next morning, at the last minute, we discovered that the passes we had for Sea World had expired, plus it was starting to rain, so we landed up not going.
So we got back on the road and headed to the Castaways RV Park, our 'home' Resorts of Destinction membership park at Lake Conroe, a little north of Houston, where we stayed for about a week. About the only 'activity' that they offered, that was of any interest, was Texas Hold 'Em poker. Terry played with them 3-4 times, but was sort of disappointed that they only played for a whopping $1 ante. Oh well, it was the fun of playing, right?
