The next morning, after a bit of shopping at WalMart we checked in at the Pilot Knob RV park about 8 miles west of Yuma. We only spent about 4 days there, one of which was spent at a RV service place in Yuma, to have some brake work done. The weather wasn't very warm, so we decided to move on up to the California desert and the Indian Waters RV park in Indio, CA. The weather there was a little warmer during the day, but crisp and coldish at night
Terry got to play some pool, bridge and poker as well as some lounging around the pool and spa for both of us. We also attended a couple of dinners that they held, one was a Spagheti dinner and the other was Fried Chicken. Dinners like that are always a nice way to meet others, etc.
Next we drove out of the desert and spent a week at Mountain Lakes Resort in the Lytle Creek. Mountain Lakes is a peaceful campground located not far from San Bernardino in a secluded, scenic valley surrounded by majestic mountains.
Contrary to Indian Waters in Indio, where they were ending their 'season' and were actually closing for the hot summer months, Mountain Lakes although they're open all year, they did not yet have all facilities available for the summer 'season'. They were building some pergula shade cover for around the 'adult' pool, so we couldn't even use the jacuzzi and had to use the 'family' pool.
Since the resort is at 3200', the weather was still pretty chilly at night and barely warm enough to use the pool during the day anyway. So we just spent most of the time relaxing and enjoying the lovely mountain scenery.
