We finally crossed the border at San Luis de Rio Colorado just south of Yuma. Since it was dark by the time we got to Yuma, we decided to spend the night in WalMart's parking lot....until the Security guard came over to tell us that City ordinance didn't allow overnight parking. He said we could park at the Cocopah Casino, that we had passed on the way into town. So we went back there for the night. Then, after doing some shopping at WalMart in the morning, we went on to the Pilot Knob RV park about 8 miles west of Yuma.
Sometime, around Guaymas, the brake lights had stopped working. The turn signals, flashers and even regular tail lights all worked, so it wasn't a bulb, etc. So Terry had to use his flashers whenever he applied the brakes (which was commonly done in Mexico anyway, so it wasn't too bad). The day after we got set up at Pilot Knob, Terry found a good RV repair place in Yuma to find out about the brake problem. It took them all day (from 8am to 5pm) to isolate the problem in the complicated wiring, then fix it, but they didn't charge as much as some others might have charged....most places charge $85-$100 per hour, they charged $500 total.
This was the last entry for Our Mexican Odyssey. I'll soon be starting a new chapter of our travels over the warm weather months of 2008. Hasta la vista.
