The lovley west of Himachal Pradesh

I took a very fun weekend trip from McLeod Ganj to the west of the state with Louise and Claudine. The bus trip was long (eight hours), but always interesting and, towards the end, gorgeous! While we stayed in Dalousie, an old British hill station, Chamba was really the star attraction of our little trip. Such a lovley town set in a beautiful region of rice farms, orchards, all along a riverbank and beside a huge lake. The storm we had our last night in Dalousie was HUGE, knocking out all power and I was afraid our hotel, perched on the side of a mountain overlooking a valley, would be swept away.
