Where I stayed
Robbie Robins Reserve

We have arrived in Darwin at the beginning of the build up.  Hot and humid is the order of the day.
We are staying at the Robbie Robins Reserve which is the home of the  Darwin Polo club and Berrimah Pony Club and Rodeo ground.
There are lots of pony club activities (next door) at the weekend.
The Polo club has about 4 meeting per year, and they do not use the ground during this hot humid time.
There was a rodeo on mid September which we went too and enjoyed.
Behind the reserve there is the Berrimah Prison with razor wire surrounding it, we often see the prisoners sitting outside their donga's (cells/rooms).
We were able to catch up with some friends that we knew when we were here in 1991 - Greg and Helen from the Darwin Sub Aqua club.  The club is still active and Ash did several dives with them.
The Mindil Market is one of the best markets that we have ever been too, and every Thursday night was spent there.
Our grand daughters Tarryn & Ciara came and had their school holidays with us (2 weeks).  It was a bit cramped inside the 5th wheeler and Ash actually slept in the back of the Land Rover ute.  It was a delight for us to be able to take them to Kakadu, Litchfield National Parks, Aquascene fish feeding, various water parks, wave pool, Territory Wildlife Park, and Crocodylus Park.  Although they felt the heat immensely they battled through.
