Where I stayed
During our visit in HK in 2005, we went to Macau for a day tour but heck 1 day isnt just enough! so when had the chance we made sure its more than a day so we have planned 3 nites, 2 days... not bad. Oh, btw, its a struggle to communicate in English, its a non-english speaking country, we survived because we met some Filipinos working there (salamat kabayan!) For the day tour, we went to see Macau tower and at the back of the building, the view is breathtaking! you will see the very long bridge there. Okay, next stop will be the St. Paul Ruins there is also a museum to check out (nice), beside the ruins you will find Macau Museum (oooops dont go on a Monday pls, museums are all close), there are a lot of museums but the most interesting ones were Macau museum, Grand Prix Museum, Maritime Museum and Wine Museum. Museums can be very time consuming so make sure you visit only those the interests you. If you walk a little further the Ruins of St Paul you will find different shops leading you to the Senado Square, (btw, there is a samsonite outlet that you might wanna check) and St. Dominic's Church, this church also houses a museum and admission is free. So next visit last dec 2007, we made sure its not a Monday so we were able to see the major museums as i mentioned earlier. stop by the fisherman's wharf. My husband is a big fan of lighthouses so this should not be missed. I am referring to the Guia Lighthouse and Fortress which stands in the Hill of Guia. Along the pedestrian Path in the Hill, you will see people jogging, doing exercise and kids playing in those exercise equipment. Ahead is the Guia Cable car, then walk again until you reach the Fortress. On top of it, you will find the Lighthouse and beside the lighthouse is the baroque chapel of Our Lady of Guia (btw, the guard there again is a Filipino;) )... Next time, maybe we'l visit more of the Churches....
