Where I stayed
Saturday we began our day at the Malta Diner. A Wonderful, Family-owned Restaurant that has been around for over 16 years now. This is a great place for Breakfast with great food and fast, cheerful service. I had an egg-white Omelette with Ham and Spinach, and a side of Home Fries, which were simply seasoned.
Later we took a cleansing walk around the grounds of Saratoga Spa State Park, and visited the Mineral Springs and the Roosevelt Bath and Spa. We were due for a Manicure on Sunday, while my husband enjoyed a Mineral Bath Soak. On Saturday evening we headed out to the Saratoga Springs Raceway and Casino. We played for a few hours and later enjoyed the evening Fireworks which were set off trackside. It was a very beautiful display of Fireworks, colorful and lasting around 40 minutes.
For Dinner that evening we ate at the Golden Corral Buffet. It was "OK", nothing fancy..I had some Cauliflower, Salad Bar, Roasted Chicken, Plain Baked Potato, and Fruit Salad. (All I can eat with 30 pages worth of Food Allergies) for those who can eat anything they wish, a Buffet like the Golden Corral would be a good dining option for them.
On Sunday we headed back to the State Park for our Manicure, and my Husband's Mineral Soak. Such an elegant place. The "waiting room" alone is furnished with comfortable lounge chairs, coffee, tea, and fruit, juices, magazines, tables and chairs, a fireplace and beautiful "Wall of Water"...providing the soothing sound of a gentle waterfall.
We later visited the Aviation Mall to see the Twilight Saga Movie at the Regal Theater for a relaxing 2 hours in an air-conditioned theater. :) That evening we had dinner at Wheatfield's Restaurant in Downtown Saratoga. Such amazing service, and they make a wonderful Gluten Free Pizza. Made to your liking. Our waitress was phenomenal and truly made our evening special. It felt good to eat a pizza. LOL I know it is something so simple to so many people but to me, A "Pizza" is like Gold! Ha! My Father got a 1 pound piece of their famous Lasagna. Filled with Meat and Cheese...truly delicious.
That evening we walked around downtown Saratoga visiting the little shops along the way. As vacations do, Monday came all too quickly. Today we headed into the Beautiful area of Lake George. We put our feet in the lake, watched parasailing, took a cruise on the Mini-Ha-Ha and ate lunch at the Shoreline Restaurant, which overlooked the Lake. The food was great and our waiter very accomodating. All in all, great service and great food with a view. :)
We made it just in time for our cruise on the Mini Ha-Ha with 5 minutes to spare. :) It was a spur of the moment idea, and I'm really happy we had the opportunity to go. It was a gentle, relaxing cruise with great commentary, and beautiful views. We had our picture taken before we stepped onboard which was a nice memento to have upon our return.
While it is always great to get away, there is never nothing like "Home Sweet Home"...the comforts of Home, the things you are used to...:) Our next trip begins August 1st through August 7th, for yet another story..stay tuned.
