When I arrived at the airport I was greeted by everyone saying "ALOHA" everyone was friendly and I was very excited after so many year of dreaming about going to America to have finally stepped foot on the USA ground and have the USA stamp in my passport
I found the bus stop which took me to my hostel that I was staying at I checked in to to my 8 bed dorm dropped my bag off and went to explore Waikiki as I walked along seeing the clear blue sea the sea full with surfers and people having a great time I thought to myself this is amazing, So I decided that it was time to get my towel out and start catching some sun so I spent my first day on the beach with was so relaxing and nice, I decided that I would head back to the hostel to get changed and showered and go out and have a meal and it just had to be a burger seeing that it was my first night in America so I found this great place call Burger in paradise, and it really was the best burger that I had ever had,
after my burger I took a walk along the beach looking at the lights a glowing from the hotels from the beach this was truly paradise, I took a walk along the road looking in all the shops watching all the street performances it was a really nice night until I arrived back at the hostel.
Seeing that I had been awake for so many hours and had travelled from Australia and had ended up having 2 Monday's I was exhausted and decided that I should get some sleep as I walked in to the room there was this 70 years old man stood there from Michigan he seemed friendly enough but my god did he smell it was like he had not seen a bath or soap in years and he was on the bunk bed below mine this is not what I needed at all then he started showing me this mouth organ that he plays and would not stop playing it I had a massive headache and just wanted to get some sleep so I laid in bed trying to sleep while he was playing this blood same tune over and over and over again he was so lucky I smashed the thing on the floor, Luckily enough he left and went to the ABC store so the room was quiet well for all of 2 minutes until all the other people in the room decided to come back and play music really loud an start drinking seriously they had no respect at all, So I got out of bed and had to get out of the room at this point I was so tired I just wanted to get a flight home and get the hell out of there I went to reception and told them that I had to change rooms in the morning and I need a smaller room as well, It was now around 3.30am and I went back to the room and most of the people were sleeping apart room this old man that was laying in his bed in his off white nasty little Y-Front pants playing his Fucking mouth organ, I said to him you better give that a rest now as it's driving me mad and if you wanna play it again then you will wanna keep all your teeth and the way your going you wont have any teeth left by the morning if you keep pissing me off with that thing, I think that he got the message as he soon stopped,
Arrr PEACE AT LAST I thought only until the old man starts farting and snoring I could not cope my head was pounding and the smells in the room we not helping at all I just needed to get out of there,
Morning finally arrived so I jumped out of bed grabbed my bag and made so much noise just to make sure that I woke everyone us as I left the room and slammed the door so loud that it would piss them off the way they pissed me off the night before.
I finally got to my new room where I was the only one in there as someone checked out about 10 mins before me it was so nice to have some piece.
I went to the beach that day as I was so tired from now sleep that I could not face doing anything apart from relaxing in the sun.
On the Wednesday I started getting in the pattern of going to Waikiki beach as it was so close and so nice and I decided to get myself a Shaved ice Snow cone they were there best things ever, I got so hooked on them they were amazing, When I went back to the hostel I met this guy that had just moved in to the room his name was Dan and he was from Philadelphia really nice guy and down to earth and went for some drinks with him we went to this bar and they had like 30 beers on tap I had never seen anything like that before and had an amazing burger in there as well, We then decide to go to an Irish pub called Kelly O'Neal’s for some more drinks chatting to all the Americans in there and they all kept saying how much they loved my accent.
The next day I went to the beach once again seriously Waikiki beach is amazing and if you ever go there you will see why I like it so much, and in the evening went for some drinks with Dan and went to this great place for dinner the salad buffet was great there was everything that you could think of and had steak which you get to BBQ yourself, that was the best meal that I had a long time, Then we went for some more drinks in a place called the Irish Rose they had a live band playing it was a really good night,
The next day Dan was leaving to go home and I met up with this Canadian guy called Chase he was only 20 and was having trouble with the hostels himself he did not like them either like me, We decided to get a bus up to Pearl Harbour and see all the navy ships from the old days, it was a really good day and in the evening we went and bought some beers from the ABC store which they have every 5 steps and that's not joke, and go and sit on the beach.
The next day we decided to hire out a car and drive up the north sure it was good but there was not much up there to see so we was a little bit gutted with that but we still had a good day,
I have to say that it was so weird driving on the wrong side of the road and on the other side of the car but as im such an amazing driver I soon got that hang of it.
In the evening we got some more beers and sat on the beach again and needed up taking pictures on the Lifeguard stand pretending that it was Baywatch
I really like Hawaii and would go back there but I would stay in a hotel and not a hostel as I think that was the only part of Hawaii that I did not really like.
