Okay, here we go. The plan at this point is fly to Houston, catch China Air to LAX and onward to Hong Kong. Stay in HK for 4 days & on to Bangkok. If things work really well, we'll walk across the airport in BK & catch plane to Danang. But most likely, we'll be hanging out in BK for a few days. From Danang, it's into the countryside to go where we fought in 1966 a couple of klicks from Dodge City (Thuy Bo 1-4 area). After awhile there, we'll probably head up to Hue & on to the DMZ where we fought in 1967. Don't know if the DMZ part will happen though because there was nothing but killing & dying up there. Then back south to Hoi An for a few days & train to Saigon. Saigon will be a short stay & from there we'll take a boat 2-3 days up the river to Phnom Penh.

From Phnom Penh we'll head through Battambang for a few days & on to Angkor Wat. We may also head south to a beach on Gulf of Thailand. For David, Cambodia will be a journey of unfolding. His birth parents are from there & there is a lot to learn & experience. We'll see how it goes. I have no ideas whatsoever re how this will be for him - or for me, as far as that goes. Leslie & I spent 5 of the most intense years of our lives with Cambodian refugees, so there is some history with me, too.

From Cambodia we'll cruise on over to Bangkok. After that, I don't know. Burma was in the plan, but some bad action there (worse than usual), so we may spend most of the rest of our time in Thailand. No prob with that! I'm hoping to get up to a refugee camp on the Thai-Burma border to see a colleague. I know, I know, I said no talk of work & there I go, bringing it up. What can I say, it will only be for a day or two.

At the end, we will pass back through Hong Kong for 2 days - kind of a decompression stage. Then back to Dallas.
