City of Antiquity
Entry 1 of 1 | show all | print this entry |
Land of frankincense and the perfume capital of Arabia. Also known as the resting place of the biblical prophet Job in nearby Jabal al Qar. We were able to visit the pool of Namaan and the ruins of a palace reputed to have belonged to the Queen of Sheba in Khawr Rhori .
To the west of Salalah are the beaches of Mughsayl. Here we found unusual blow holes in the rocky shelf close to the shore. We tried to get close to one and ended up soaking wet! These holes display dramatic bursts of water and foam which are similar to a geyser. They sometimes reach up to 50 feet in the air!
