Regal Riga

Yesterday was really blurry after a sleepless night at the Oslo airport. I'm amazed to be here at all as my flight was for the other Oslo airport, almost 200k from Oslo, Sandefjord. But luckily Norwegians are famously hospitable and the airline ticket lady changed the first half of my trip for me. So now I'm in royal, regal Riga. What a fantastically beautiful city. Dubbed the "Paris of the East" it is easy to see why. Art is everywhere. Riga has more Art Nouveau styled buildings than anywhere in the world. Since I love AN, I am happy to be spending my days here. Hoping to head north to Tallinn in Estonia as well, but Riga definitely captures you and makes you just want to have a cup of coffee and look around. I find myself constantly looking up at the onion dome church spires, which peer at you from the smallest alleyways. I will take a gazillion photos from here I am positive. Also Latvians are super nice, looking for a bed today the lady who didn't have rooms locked up her office and took me downstairs to the street that did have some. And the food prices are a welcome change from the price induced diet of Norway. I had my first beer since leaving Scotland today, at only $3.60 for a half litre of good Latvian lager, Zelta. I think I'm going to like it here.
