This is the part of the journey where the first thing we have to do on arriving in a new town is work out how to leave - buses are infrequent and it is peak season, so some travellers are stranded for days. This saw us cut our stay here to three nights, which was probably enough to be honest.
It was very nice to be somewhere with more British-type temperatures for this time of year, as it was quite disorientating being in 30 degrees plus heat on Christmas Day! Ushuaia is in Tierra del Fuego, where the main activities are hiking and boat trips on the Beagle Channel, so that's exactly what we did... The scenery is spectacular - massive, brooding skies and tall mountains overlook the water, with copious amounts of wildlife thrown in for good measure.
