We have treated ourselves to a spot of flash packing here in BA what with it being Christmas and all, and are staying in a beautiful little hotel close to the City Centre, in the type of classic early 19th century building that typifies parts of the city. The first night in Argentina meant finding a parrilla and enjoying a very rare steak. Although my steak came with a pickled artichoke and squeezy cheese (I am working on my Spanish!), we were not disappointed. We are determined not to go for steak every night, but as I type Piet is swatting up on steak based vocab so it would seem silly not to go out and test his new found language skills.

Today has been spent in Recoleta, walking round the cemetery admiring the architecture and following the hordes to Evita's final resting place. Recoleta cemetery has to be seen to be believed. Luckily I have brought a rather good photographer along with me on this trip, so I refer you to his fantastic photographs of this unlikely tourist trap.

This will be our last entry before the 25th, so have a very happy Christmas everybody! xx

Happy Christmas
Thanks for the update, glad to see you are both making best use of your time. Ani will be jealous that you visited Evita's grave before her! I suspect steak is very cheap in Argentina so get as much as you can - it won't be elsewhere in the world. Christmas is nearly on us in the Vaughan household but we are missing you both - even if it is only for someone to take Ruby for a run. Have a wonderful Christmas, we will be thinking of you and wishing that you are with us. Lots of Love Allan
