Aperitivo at any opportunity

Aperitivo means to open the stomach, so with a drink you open the stomach to eat...
The first time I met a dutch friend, I arrived in my heels straight from work, her in her sneakers slipping straight from the saddle of her bike (i'll tell you more about bikes later). We bought a drink each for 6 euro and then was told please of course go help yourself to the buffet...buffet for free, it's got be sparse and limited. No this is Italy, food comes over drinking and the buffet had a great selection from olives, peppers, chicken, tuna salad and my enemies...pasta and foccacia. The more you eat the more you want to drink, and the more you drink the more you want to keep going back for refills on another new plate to cure your desire for yummy italian food. Aperitivo is great and it is even better for watching the locals.
