Real Arden country now with more lush, rolling pastures, ancient woodland, beautiful half-timbered houses and ancient churches.
The Heart of England Way drops down past the lovely old manor house at Baddesley Clinton, and after the horrible M40 and adjacent railway, onto the pretty town of Henley-in-Arden.  Then it's on to hillier territory as it bends it's way to the ancient Roman town of Alcester.
There are very few people around and even Henley seems quiet for a nice day.  Clearly everyone is watching the footie!

What made me smile today:

Lots of butterflies fluttering by
A village of Lowsonford, where I passed one house with a large model zebra in the garden, the next had live llamas in the garden and this was followed by a wood with muntjac deer (the small ones with funny teeth).  Clearly they like their wildlife on the exotic side!

Hi again Charlie - sorry but just spotted your blog on Henley-in Arden. My Mother and Father lived there for 15 years until they left us some years ago and my sister lives just up the road in Wootton Wawen - I even use the Waitrose in Alcester!! Small world eh! Onwards - Paul
