Plan B today as everything is shrouded in mist and cloud, and Stoodley Pike is nowhere to be seen!
This section between Mankinholes and Standedge fits all my associations with the word "Pennine" - desolate, grey moorland and bog intersected by the M62 under a glowering sky!  Still, it's not actually raining and despite the mist, it's a well-trod path that is easy to follow.
I make it to Standedge in record time and spend a lovely evening with a friend's parents.  Thanks Mr & Mrs Blakeborough!

What made me smile today:
The 200-odd sheep who mistake me for a farmer come to feed them and run down the moors to bleat at me in the mist.  Quite a spooky effect.
Brian's tea van and a hot mug of tea and a slice of swiss roll in the middle of nowhere.  He's a lovely man - he even gave me a free cake for the rest of the journey!
