The last stop of the trip, after 6 months and itīs finally coming to an end!

We decided not to book a hostel in Cancun, we havenīt needed to for the last 6 months so figured weīd be alright here! So we rocked up at the bus station and were immediately greeted by a tout with a hostel "just around the corner", i honestly donīt know why we still believe them! What felt like 9 miles later and we arrived at the hostel, where we immediately turned around in search of something which looked a little less like a drug den! Next we met another guy with another hostel "Just round the corner" so we figured weīd go have a look and surprise surprise 3 hours and one dump later we were still looking! However then we found Mundo Joven, our hostel for the next and last few days! The hostel was amazing, free margaritas, fresh towels and linen (AMAZING!) and our room was huge. Even the staff were awesome, super friendly and always eager to help. The hostal is brand new so still renavating but when its done it will be a backpackers dream!! We even had our photo taken for being the first people to donate books to the book exchange! Exciting stuff in Cancun!!

We always knew Cancun was going to be about the nightlife, so after checking with a friend who had recently been there we decided to head to The City on Saturday night. Itīs the biggest club in Latin America and pretty similar to the clubs in bath (hmmm). So we threw together our best going out outfit (Ellies consisting of a top folded in half for a skirt, Charlies involving a bit of glue instead of hairgel!!!) and headed out. You can either pay for club entry or club entry with an open bar, we opted for the open bar seeing as it is the end of the Gap Yah!! Needless to say it was a great night out and our plans to go out the next night were completely destroyed!!!

The weather in Cancun has been pretty bad so we only made it to the beach once, in the Zona Hotelera. This zone is pretty naff everyone seems to move from hotel to restaurant to shop all in taxis, there isnīt much authenticity to be had in this zone. Cancun gets a lot of stick for being inauthentic, Lonely Planet for example really doesnīt rate it. However its a good place to have a good time and a pretty awesome place to end a pretty awesome six months!!

But fear not this will not be the last blog entry, Weīve still got one more in us after this but for those of you who donīt make it that far thank you so much for reading the blog and we hope we havenīt bored you on too many occasions! And keep your eyes peeled for the next adventure!

Ella on

Oh Ellie, all along I have been meaning to write and have been so busy with work etc, shameful. It seems to have flown by and now you are nearly back! Oh dear... I haven't had a chance to look at much of your blog either but hopefully will one day soon. It will be a wonderful record of the trip for you and the photos look v cool. I didn't really have much advice for you anyway, I'm sure you made your own adventures and the companies you travelled with at the start sounded great. Anyway, enjoy Mexico, we loved it, especially Yucatan and Tulum, very chilled place. I hope it has all been amazing and that you both have a safe journey home. Your Mum and Dad will be so happy to see you! Lots of love Ella xx
