Pretty much flew by.
We arrived in Singapore. The airport was spotless and the floors were so clean i could see my reflection. We grab a shuttle bus and headed to the little red dot, our first hostel!
We arrived and checked in. The owner and staff was lovely and made us feel at home. We booked a 8 bed dorm but we ended up getting a 18 room capsule dorm which was cool. The only
Problem was it was constantly dark in the room so i always thought it was 4am! Also there wasn't much space and getting changed or ready was just hard work. However it was just a place to get my head down so we dumped our stuff and headed to the food market
We headed back to the hostel to get ready for the Saturday night pub crawl which the staff recommended to us. The only problem was we had to take a bus and a train to get there! It was pouring down in rain so one of the staff members got someone to drop us off to the station rather than have to get a bus! There was a Philippines girl next to Charlie who was travelling by herself so we invited her out to the bar crawl. We arrived late after getting lost but made to the first bar... Charlie's bar!
The bar crawl wasnt the typical bar crawl. We rocked up and there were 3 other people and two of them were staff! Anyway more people arrived and we got our free shots and tax free drinks!
The bight turned out to be a pretty good night. We went to 4 vars and one club, got brought a £200 bottle of champagne and had a little dance! Drinking is not something you can ready do when travelling in Singapore as alcohol is all taxed so it is really expensive. One bar wanted 15 dollars for a jack and coke or 200 dollars for the bottle. It works out to about £7.50 a drink or roughly £100 for the bottle. It is crazy especially when you know back home you can go in tesco and pay £25 for a bottle.
Anyway we got a few strong cocktails which worked out to about £8 they were in pint size glasses so was making the most of the prices.
The following day we decided to check out one of the many malls in Singapore and found a H&M. Charlie was in here element whereas all i wanted was a black skirt since i left mine in Phuket an it was one of those pieces of clothing which everything goes with! Anyway i found a plain black bodycon vest dress which meant i could wear a top over it making it into a skirt. Found a cute little daisy headband and some earrings so brought them as well. Only came to £15 in total so still in with my budget!
We wanted to do the night safaris as we had heard such good things about it but it decided to pour down in the afternoon and never stopped. Instead we got chatting to a girl called Chloe who had already completed her first year in Oz and was already planning her next trip which included Singapore, Bali, Thailand and NZ. She was such a lovely girl and it was a shame we were going in opposite directions. Anyway she gave us loads of tips an advice and she has her second year visa so may see her about in oz sometime. We also met a guy called Andy who was an Aussie working inMalaysia teaching thai boxing. He was in Singapore just for a week then heading back to Malaysia.
We all got chatting and decided to sit in the lobby and have a few beers and vodkas and share stories. We were meant to go out but never in the end. It was nice just to chill and meet new people.
We met several people in our few days of being in Singapore. We tasted the food and alcohol, checked out the night life and shopping malls and had a quick walk around Little India. The constant rain let us down so we couldn't do a fews things we had planned to so but i enjoyed my time and would come back to do some more exploring.
For now we were all packed once again and ready for the next part of our journey... AUSTRALIA!
