DC is the place of government buildings, monuments and musea, so my 2 day stay was filled with seeing the White House, US Capitol, Lincoln memorial, Martin Luther King memorial, WWII memorial, Korean War memorial etc etc. To go inside government buildings you need to make an appointment weeks if not months in advance. Of course i didn't do this, but even so there's plenty to see.

Also visited some museums, a first on this trip. Museum of African Art, the Native American museum and the National Art Gallery. To my surprise it is allowed to take photos everywhere as long as the flash is off. Tnis includes Monet, Picasso and Van Gogh, quite bizar.

I'm now at JFK on my way to Burlington, Vermont, to visit my host family whom I lived with for a year 15 years ago!

It's getting closer to xmas and not sure if I'll have another chance to update this before, so Merry Christmas everyone!
