Where I stayed
Den Boskant Campground
What I did
Lots of boats on the AlbertKanel
We decided to take a lay day on the 4th of July.
The couple that owns the campground built it over the last 40 years and it's so pretty! Entirely built of bricks, it's made to look like a chateau. Window boxes with geraniums beautiful grounds. I could move in tomorrow.
Happy 4th to all our friends, Lv, C&C
Much easier to get to the AlbertKanal then to find the campground last night. Pretty cloudy today but, in the 70's. It's pretty flat along the canal which made up for yesterdays hills. The day, however was very long. We started at 10am and got to Olen at 6:30. That was nearly two hours longer because they kept taking us away from the canal to go around industrial parks. Still all and all the trip was much better. Sorry about my rant yesterday, we were just tired and frazzeled from the traffic and scooters. I guess I also didn't explain that bikes do have the right of way but, apparently the cars just don't like to stop. Chuck tells me that until 1985 they didn't need to have driver's licenses. Also, one of our bikes books talks about how bad the traffic is in Belgium.
