Curled up in a ball again for yet another overnight journey - managing to grab a few hours sleep but I don´t find it easy. Sometimes feels that most of this trip is one long bus journey. Lovely flat road this time, straight up the coast so we made the most of it. Arrived in Trujillo first thing in the morning but we´ll save the exploring till next week and we caught another bus to Chiclayo, still near enough to the coast to smell the salt and fish. Ahhh, the fish! At last I have found a food that doesn´t involve bits of chicken, goat or guinea-pig. Ceviche is an amazing dish of raw (and sometimes dried) white fish, marinated in a sauce of chillies, lemon and onions and served with roasted corn and beans - heaven, I´m really in heaven!
Headed out to the beach today to soak in the sights and sounds of the sea. Tomorrow we´ll adventure out to the massive adobe pyramids of Tucume and the gold of Sipan. Will try to put some photos on in a day or two...
