Oh what a wonderful, peaceful little town...well apart from the first night when a cat tried to claw itīs way into our tent to eat the bread of all things! And then there is the usual night chorus of dogs barking and the unexpected arrival of 150 students from Tucaman University...
The town is a centre for wine production so we wandered round in the haze tasting all the local varieties, very nice indeed. When they finish crushing the grapes they give the skins to the goats which then produce delicious cheese for us and scented manure to put round the grape vines - very clever.
Wandered up the local hill (past the cross) to find a track leading up to some cave paintings of guanaco or vicuņa. Took a while to spot them despite the three huge arrows painted on the nearby rocks.
