Another stunning bus ride, this time up through dense subtropical forests - only downside of being on the bus is that you canīt jump out and take photos every few minutes. As we drove into Tafi, the forests gave way to the barren desert scape we have become so used to now. Itīs funny to see photos of Tafi later in the winter and see it covered in snow - what a place to live.

After stumbling up the hill through town in the midday heat, we discovered the camp site to be closed for the winter, big pants! Our luck was in though and a very nice old man who lived behind the camp site said we could camp in his garden. So we and three Argentinian students squeezed our tents in between the boulders and bushes and found it to be very comfy indeed (could have done without the cockerels outside the tent at four in the morning though!)

Not much to do in Tafi - up local hill (with the obligatory cross at the top), drank mate with our new friends and learnt how to use the past tense in Spanish. Being young and enthusiastic, the other three spent most of each morning and evening trying to make fires (to boil up the copious amounts of mate) - not so easy with damp wood, our eyes are still stinging.
