Man alive they have good buses here! Caught the overnight one, thinking "I´ll never sleep on a bus" but what a joy it is - lovely reclining seats and leg rests! Films (in English with Spanish subtitles) and lots of cups of tea and biscuits. Taking me a while to get used to sugar in my tea again as they add to the water rather than let you monitor it yourself, ho hum.

Sierra de la Ventana is pretty but not much is going on. Seems the kind of place folk from Buenos Aires run to to escape the heat. The river has been dammed so everyone can jump in and cool down - have to say I have never seen people have so much fun in water, it´s like watching an advert except they ain´t paid to laugh and splash so much.

Had my first post office experience. I only wanted to post a few things home as I´d finally realised my rucksack wasn´t going to get any lighter just by crossing my fingers. So I shoved a few socks, t-shirts etc into an envelope but was told, "No, no no! They must be put in a box!" So off I went to a wee grocers where they not only gave me a box but cut it to the right size, covered it in brown paper and string then put these amazingly big round staples all over it to hold it together...and then refused to take any money! Very, very nice people. So, a few hundred stamps later and my parcel arrived home looking like a piece of art...still not sure that old socks warrant such attention.

Think we´ll head on south to Puerto Madryn soon, try to find some more action.
