We arrive at Enumclaw - the first 30 miles!

Lessons learned on the 300 mile hike from Spokane to Issaquah were applied on this journey - such as rubbing my feet with Body Glide cream before putting on a pair of TED hose and then a pair of diabetic socks. This certainly made for much less friction on my feet. I also started out with toe covers for both little toes. Halfway along the route I removed the socks and gave them another rubbing with Body Glide cream. While these precautions, along with the cooler weather, certainly helped minimize much stress to my feet this first day, by the time I reached Enumclaw my body was delighted to just flop into the passenger seat next to Anne and head for home and a hot, soaking bath with Epsom Salts. Some Aleve for aching muscles and a good night's rest are on order before we drive back to Enumclaw early in the morning.
